Loving Dragons

Image
This Beauty was a gift for a fun loving woman who loves mystical creatures, so what better then a tumbler that resembles a dragon. This cup was a little time consuming, each scale was placed individually, painted, then epoxied with a chameleon powder to give it that pretty color changing effect. Appreciate your Teachers

Image
I couldn't imagine being a school teacher; for any grade. It takes a special person to take on that task, to take our children under their wings in fill their minds with knowledge. This year my daughter had a teacher that she said was one of her favorites and to be honest I think she was mine too. She took the time to help my daughter and give her the direction she needed. I am not sure how other schools in the rest of the United States work, but now a days kids don't even come home with homework anymore so it is hard for us parent to know what they are learning, on top of that they have changed the way they learn so now we have to jump on You Tube just to find out how to add a different way. With all of these changes in our school it is so important for children to be able to at least get along with their teachers but it is awesome when love having that individual as a teacher. So this year I decided to use my new found craft to 1. give myself more practice and 2. giv...

Alcohol Ink Swirl Tumbler

Image
My second Cup I flopped a couple of times, and I have found that sometimes the simplest cups can be the most difficult. I started with acrylic inks mixed with epoxy; which looked amazing but chime the "trial and error bell," Acrylic mixed in epoxy seems to dry faster then expected and as I let it turn I tried to add more acrylic ink and it no longer wanted to "flow." So had to strip it. Then I went to an acrylic pour, what can I say, I hated it, didn't have the look I wanted, so second go was striped... So now we get to the third and final, I wanted something a little darker almost a royal blue so I went back to the good ol' alcohol inks and was able to achieve the look I was going for. After adding a little extra darker blue ink the cup was ready to dry. One more learned lesson was do not use a heat gun once the epoxy has started to cure. I ended up having large diviets that had to be sanded out. Once sanded and washed it w...

New Crafting Journey

Image
It has been exactly a year since my last post, what can I say, life happens. Since I have been away I have picked up a new craft...Customizing Tumblers. I know, I know there are a lot of crafters out there that have picked up this craft but to be honest it can be a very satisfying craft. I tried my hand at this craft a little over a year ago and bomb on the first cup so I threw in the towel, I didn't have the right tools nor the patients so at the time it wasn't for me. Fast forward to a couple of months ago I asked for a tumbler turner for my birthday and got it, This is where the journey has begun. I have been able to create some pretty awesome cups since then. I know there are many different techniques to learn along with experimenting with a few ideas. I have made some amazing gifts for people. I am not going to post all my cups in this one post but I am going to show you where I started on this journey. I have not done what I have seen so many others do and go c...

Hey Batter Batter

Image
We have a Triple A Baseball team in our little town, and with a family of 4 it is a nice was to enjoy a baseball game an not spend a lot of money. I wanted a shirt for myself and daughter but I didn't want to use the Logo of the team for obvious reasons. After racking my brain and scanning Pinterest for wording that didn't have anything to do with my kids in baseball I settled on "Hey Batter Batter." The rhinestone and rhinestud baseball added the perfect last touch and I am proud to say the baseball was my design and not a pre-made design or store purchased. Here is the thing, I able to get these shirts done in about 2 hours which was a bit challenging but I had a great time making them and got a few compliments on the shirts at the game. These are going to be our game shirts this year and we can't wait for the next game. Go Firefrogs!!!

Testing a New Product

Image
A few weeks ago myself and my daughter went to the Stamping and scrapbooking expo, now I am not into either of those but I do make cards and there was an awesome company there by the name of " Crafter Depot ", that I purchase from. Faith, introduced me to a pretty awesome product by the name of Siser Adhesive and some foils.  Below are my first test with this material, the Tree of Life with the Trinity knots was done with the adhesive and gold carbon fiber foil. The Unicorn tank top was created on one of my daughters old white tanks. It was done with the Siser adhesive and the minty blue and rainbow confetti foils. I am in love with this material and looking forward to what else I can do with it. I know this foil sticks to anything sticky so I am sure this will be a great addition to custom cards also

Aged to Perfection

Image
This was a gift for my Mother-in-law in December for her birthday. This was a  natural colored canvas. I used fabric paint to add color with gold HTV Siser material and Amber rhinestones for her birth year. A classy little tote for those little trips where you want to bring those extras.

Sweet an Simple

Image
Most people love a little wall art but sometimes we are looking for something sweet and simple. I have found the a cute design for simple wall art. The origin should have been a reverse canvas but for the first attempt I measured the space incorrectly, I had to put the canvas on the original way but in the end it came out looking great. It has a place right over our front door.

One Adventure Ends and Another Begins

Image
I think we could all consider ourselves blessed if we could find a job we could retire from, one we could wake up everyday and enjoy what we do for a living. Fortunately that is something I am working toward and hope in a few years I can make it my full time job. Until then I will work hard at making that dream come true. One of the perks of creating bags is the chance to make gift for my loved ones. Just recently my dad retired for the Sheriffs department. I watched him growing up go from a mail carrier, back when they walked the routes and delivered to every house with his carrier bag, then becoming an axillary police officer while going to school and becoming a sheriffs deputy. I am proud to call this man my father, his motivation to do something he loved drove him to make that dream come true and I hope and pray that I can keep that same motivation. I am not going to lie though, I am beyond happy that it was finally time for him to retire. Night after night putting his lif...

Seeing the Message

Image
I am not a deeply religious person but I am proud to say I believe in God. I have the mouth of a sailor on my worse days and I am a sinner like everyone else. I have had too many little miracles in my life not too believe, along with hearing the messages that are being sent to me. Where am I going with these? I recently received an order for a bag and she requested a bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11 , now I have not read the bible so I had no clue what this verse was until I looked it up.....and there is was, it was my motivation, a message for me. " For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." So why does this mean anything to me, I just recently started my own little business and things are a little slow going so when I read this message it hit home, it is telling me not to give up, keep pushing and stay positive. My advice to all of those around me is this: Stop ...

A Happy Birthday for you Son

Image
My Son, who decided early on in life that he wasn't going to wait for anything, even a due date has just turned 12 today. Born 11 1/2 weeks early he still is as inpatient as that day. For his birthday this we took him to Epcot and had a blast. For both the kids I took the time to create them something they could wear. For my son, he wanted a shirt, please know I would not sell anything that is copyrighted and the clipart and font for this shirt was 1. purchased and 2. for personal use only. This is a moister wicking, 100% polyester shirt and worked great with the Thermoflex material. He loved the shirt. For my daughter she wanted something she could carry her stuff in. The bag below is also 100% polyester, it is child size and is only for carrying a kids normal toys among other light weight things. You can not over stuff these bags. With that being said this bag help up very well and turned out great. As you can see it was a perfect size for her. ...

Just a Diva Thing

Image
What is a Diva? Well after looking it up, a dive can be anything from a female performer, used to describe a person who has great style and personality with confidence or just a down right bitch. Lets be honest, we all know at least 2 out of the three and there are many more descriptions of "DIVA" out there. What is my point, one word has many meanings and in this case, these custom bags were made for a "DIVA," her mother and 2 girls and in no way is it a negative thing.  There is nothing wrong with being a diva and honestly I think most women have a little diva in there waiting to come out, to have that little bit of confidence, to finally tell someone how you really feel, to have the courage to step out of your comfort zone and finally try something new. So, why not celebrate it with your very own custom bag!! These pink drawstring bags are in 2 sizes, large for adults and small for the children.  Gold lettering and for the adult women, a be...
